The Rosary
The rosary is an important part of Catholic prayer and tradition because Our Blessed Mother came from heaven and asked us to unite ourselves with her Son through this prayer each day. According to Catholic tradition, the Blessed Virgin Mary herself, appeared to St. Dominic (founder of the Dominicans), in the 13th century. The Blessed Mother gave St. Dominic a rosary, and asked that Christians pray the Hail Mary, Our Father, and Glory Be prayers instead of the Psalms.
